Finance & Administration Officer,
(full time, based in Bucharest)
The Finance & Administration Officer contributes to the WWF mission in general and to the WWF DCP Romania annual objectives through thoroughness, accuracy and proper support for projects.
The Finance & Administration Officer will report directly to the Chief Accountant and will be based in Bucharest.
Your duties will include:
Finance and Accounting operations:
? Assists the Chief Accountant in ensuring proper application of finance procedures as established in WWF DCP Romania Programme Program Office;
? Assists the Chief Accountant during external and internal audits in the performance of their missions and prepares any documents or analyses that they may require to fulfil their mission;
? Prepares the accounting support documents for the reporting on projects in accordance with donor requirements;
? Records transactions data - invoices, travels, prepayments in the AP ledger, petty cash, adjustments, income, bank transactions, and expenses in the GL ledger in Oracle accounting system on a timely basis and ensures subsequent verification thereof;
? Verifies that outstanding travel advances are cleared before issuing new travel advances;
? Withdraws money from the bank for the petty cash operations;
? Assists the Chief Accountant in the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports;
? Prepares and submits quarterly the BNR reporting;
? Properly files all documents and statutory registers and listings on a timely basis and assists in the development and maintenance of appropriate archives in accordance with donor and legal requirements;
? Prepares the bank payments following internal procedures for approval;
? Maintains appropriate files by project to retain key contractual and other documents;
? Operates the Oracle system in a proper and professional manner by maintaining an appropriate Chart of Accounts and entering data on a timely basis after subsequent verification.
Administration
? Carries out the physical inventories and reconciles the results to the fixed assets register.
? Assists the F&A Manager RO in the development and operation of a system for dealing with the
day-to-day running of the Bucharest office. Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role.
We expect from you:

Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in economic studies or related fields;
Knowledge of local accounting standards;
ORACLE knowledge a strong asset
Experience: At least 1 to 3 years of post-qualifying experience or 3 to 5 years of under-qualifying experience in an accountant’s role with responsibility for both input and analysis of transactions, preparing reports and interacting with other departments;
Exposure to an accounting system with an analytical accounting structure.
Skills and Abilities:
• Office tools, particularly Excel and Word at a minimum intermediate level
• A good level of written and spoken English
